...and that was shot on a 10D even!

You know, it's not the "equipment" you have but what you do with it!
:iconjimmydefiant:
Well, I say this image clean enough, but the 10D dynamic range clearly shows its limits at the tip of the frame. Not distracting at all in this shot. Well done. I think being a good technician with a good subject is what makes you stand out. Ah... but what do I know know. I am looking at work my other half will never let me do and you are out doing the work.

A characteristic of digital photography is the lack of latitude in the highlights of an image. This can be overcome, somewhat, by shooting in Camera RAW mode, and recovering the highlight detail using post-processing. I may go back and work on this image some more.

I like the poka-dotted ensemble.

Always open to working w/ adventurous subjects (particularly if you're in Northern NY) who are brave enough to be in front of my camera. Interested? :devart: note me at your leisure & maybe we can figure something out.

leave it as it is... :D

one brush stroke too many....

I am probably a rare person in the sense that I get to view it on a high quality 20" Sun CRT that is calibrated. I am not so articulate so... I like the shot ::wow::, and amazed at the capture.

Sometimes the subject of a photo can transcend the technical aspects of the image. A photographer who I admire a lot is `kentsoul. He often shoots using a Holga - a cheap plastic camera. Each one has it's own anomalies and you can't predict the resulting quality of the image. But, as he says, not being able to control the quality of the image frees you from having to worry about it, and you concentrate more of the contents of the image. I think that's an approach a lot of us could benefit from.

You are so great at making people look beautiful and this shot is one of your best examples! Love it! (and your model) :-)

So I Strike Up for the New World! A Newer Mightier World. One that I will make to MY Liking.

Oh, I know what a holga is. I have to print from them at the lab I work.

I have done portraits with disposable 35mm cameras.
Usually the client wants a particular quality to an image, it helps to know how to recreate lighting and effects (as you do).

ANYWAYS.... I really dig your work, the quality is there, and that quality is nice!

I shot a roll of crap kodak 400 max at a wedding and the the color was crap with some great moments of a kid crying by herself in a pew. I know using it was gonna be unpredictable, damn, I almost lost a moment worth keeping. It is an unreproducible effect, so that makes that shot kinda rare, but it coulda looked even better if I had made a better choice in recording the moment.
